Description:

Join us for the 11th annual Whitewater Festival at Centennial Park in beautiful Canon City, Colorado!  Raging through the famous Royal Gorge canyon, the Arkansas River flows throughout the heart of Canon City, creating a beautiful backdrop and a natural playground for outdoor enthusiasts.  The Whitewater festival started in 2001 with Build Your Own Boat.  Since that time, the festival has added rafts, SUP's, and riverboats competitions making it the premier summer whitewater festival.  We are expecting high water this year, which will require greater skill level.  Please be advised that, due to high water conditions, all participants of water events must have whitewater certification.

For those who prefer land activities, we have you covered.  You can register for the 'Racing the River Fun 5K Run,' which will begin at Sell Ave trailhead (933 Sell Ave) on June 22nd.  This is not your typical 5K race.  There will be at least five simple, fun obstacles throughout the course.  Expect to cool off and get a little wet during the race. Free kid's race will follow.  Also on June 22nd, there will be yoga in the morning and the Hot Diggity Weenie Dog Races.  You'll not want to miss any of these events!

We have booked a variety of bands to perform live music throughout the festival.  You can enjoy the music while watching the whitewater activities or as you make your way around to all of the food and merchandise vendors.
