Description:

Fremont Adventure Recreation is proud and excited to announce the Royal Gorge Region's premier mountain bike race - The Royal 50/ Gorgeous 25. This epic course, which will take place on the newest jewel in Cañon City's crown - the Royal Gorge Park Trails - takes you across singletrack trails that offer flowy fun and technical challenges. Choose a 25-mile course (Sport category) on Saturday or the 50-mile course (Expert category) on Sunday. Both events will be followed by live music, food, beer, and a campfire.

New this year are the Point Alta Vista Trail Races, which will utilize much of the same course as the mountain bike races, including the incredible historic train trestles and Point Alta Vista - overlooking the Royal Gorge. Choose the 5K course or the challenging Half-Marathon.

The Royal Gorge Park Trails are located just outside of the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park. The trails offer stunning panoramic views of the Royal Gorge, the Arkansas River Valley, and the distant Sangre de Cristo Mountains. We suggest you ride first and stare later.

Your start and finish is located at the Royal Gorge Ranch & Resort - a sprawling 800-acre property that features direct access to the Royal Gorge Park Trails. You'll be treated to a post-ride festival within the ranch facility, including music, food, beer, and live music. Spectators, family members, and friends will be invited to attend.

Course description:

This year's course begins and ends on singletrack trail, it does NOT include the Royal Gorge Bridge...but it does include over 9 miles of sweet new trail. You'll begin by entering the Royal Gorge Trail System through the Royal Gorge Ranch & Resort, heading out on a 25-mile loop course (one lap for the Gorgeous 25, two laps for the Royal 50). You'll find yourself on familiar favorites: Dreamweaver, FAR Out, Summit View, and the Canyon Rim Trail, but you'll also be introduced to new trails and - best of all - the historic Point Alta Vista Trestles.

Trail runners will utilize the Gorgeous 25 course, which will offer incredible views, a challenging course, and the Point Alta Vista Trestles. The 5K course is primarily on double-track dirt road, which will not have any vehicular traffic.

(Point Alta Vista trestles are currently under renovation. Decking to be completed in summer 2019.)
