This event is to remind us all that cancer will not take the memories of our loved ones away from us. "The Event to Remember" is a virtual event that honors all of cancer survivors and the memory of those who lost the battle.
100% of the funds raised for this event will go directly to the EAMC Spencer Cancer Center Oncology Wellness Program. This program provides exercise training and massage therapy to the patients who undergo treatment at that facility. The program provides comfort and improved health outcomes to our patient population.
How "Exercise to Remember" works... You will determine how many minutes you will commit to exercising in the month of October. Exercise can include walking, swimming, riding a bike, working out in a gym, etc. The time options are 300, 600, or 1000 minutes. The goal is to spend your time exercising honoring/remembering your loved ones who have been effected by this terrible disease. We will create a closed Facebook group where you can post your minutes and who you honored during those minutes as often as you like! As an added bonus, we will be offering Facebook Live Yoga and High Intensity Interval Training classes on this group page for anyone who would like to participate. Each day, the we will have different honorees posted on the Facebook group and mentioned in the exercise classes.
The Goodies: For registering you will receive an "Exercise to Remember" race buff (which can also be used as a facemask during these trying times of COVID-19). For donations of $50+, we will add your honoree's name to the buff's. However, you must be registered with your $50 donation paid no later than September 13th.
