John's Run/Walk Shop presents the fifth installment in the Speakeasy Series: drink free beer and talk running with us! This month we are joined by Physical Therapist Scott Crook. He will speaking about preventing running related injuries and will touch on a common injury that sidelines runners: heel pain.
Scott Crook, PT is a graduate of the University of Kentucky Physical Therapy School (1987) and has been working as a Physical Therapist in the outpatient setting for over 31 years. Before he was a Physical Therapist, Crook was a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist for 19 years. No stranger to the athletic world; he has practiced in primarily an Orthopedic and Sports setting, working with patients and athletes of all ages and ability levels. Crook has worked with professional athletes from various sports including baseball, basketball, football, and track and field. He opened his own private practice over 9 years ago, and has merged with other colleagues: Jim Rothbauer and Bradley Wheeldon, forming the company: Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy, which has 6 clinics in the central Kentucky area, including his home base clinic in Brannon Crossing, named Performance Physical Therapy. Crook is also Vice President on the board of the Blanton Collier Sportsmanship Group. He is married to his wife of 28 years, Cindy, who also works as a PT at Performance Physical Therapy. He has 2 sons, Dylan and Carson.
