This is a trail race and the course has uneven surfaces. The course starts on an asphalt path, with a road crossing and then moves onto the prairie trail. The trail runs under dense tree canopies which may prevent proper operation of GPS watches affecting pace time and measured distance.
The race begins behind Deerpath Middle School, 95 W. Deerpath, Lake Forest. The start line takes place on the south ball field, with an open field cross-country style start. The finish line is within the prairie and an approximate 0.25 mile walk back to the school and post-race activities.
Parking is available behind Deerpath Middle School.
We encourage participants to bicycle to the race or carpool. Bicycle racks are available at the start area.
