Trail running is a great way to get outside and explore the natural areas of Corvallis while sneaking in some exercise. This class is designed to equip new and returning runners with the knowledge and skills they need to trail run safely as well as building their fitness level up to being able to complete a 5km/3.1 mile trail run. This course is meant to be a supplement to training during the week. We will discuss sample training plans during the first class. It is recommended that participants plan on running at least twice during the week to create sustainable training habits and reduce the risk of injury as distance increases. Strength building with weight lifting or yoga are also great additions to prevent injuries and build muscle.
