Description:

Lace up your running shoes and get ready to soar at the Friends of Barr Lake 13th Annual Raptor Run 5K! This flat, certified course makes it easy to spread your wings and set a new personal best—all while enjoying the beautiful scenery of Barr Lake State Park. Whether you're racing to the finish line, enjoying a brisk walk, or taking a leisurely jog with your leashed four-legged friend, every step helps support recreation, conservation, and education at the park. So, grab your running buddies (human or canine) and join us for a morning of fun, fitness, and fresh air!

Registration fees are $40 until 3/27/2025.

Registration fees increase to $45 beginning 3/28/2025 until 4/5/2025.

Children 15 and under and seniors 60 and older receive a $5 discount.

Course description:

Raptor Run 5K: Start at the Nature Center bridge and head North along the lake. At the fishing pier, turn East to the archery range. From the archery range, run along the road to meet up with the Prairie Trail that takes you toward the Meadowlark Picnic Pavilion. Family and friends (including furry members) can cheer you on by the boat dock, along the road, and near finish line. Flat trail that starts on soft gravel, has half a mile of concrete and ends on a soft gravel trail.

Directions to start:

The starting line is just past the Nature Center bridge, west of the parking lot and Nature Center. All runners and walkers check in at the Meadowlark Picnic Pavilion and will be guided to the bridge.

Parking:

Park in the Nature Center parking area. Please follow parking guide's direction to help get everyone safely parked.

Awards info:

Medals awarded to the top three finishers in each category.

Categories include: Ages 15 and under; 16-35; 36-50; 51-64; and 65+

Additional info

T-shirt size guaranteed for registrations submitted by 2/28/2025. For registrations received after this date, t-shirts will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Packet pickup begins at 8:00 am on race day at the Meadowlark Picnic Pavilion, located just northeast of the Nature Center.
