Description:

MUST READ - INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING NOMINATIONS. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR INCOMPLETE NOMINATIONS THAT ARE NOT ACKNOWLEDGED BEFORE THE DEADLINE.

Nominations for all major-expense paid trips to Epilepsy Awareness Day At Disneyland are open. Nominations will be accepted through July 15, 2023 and winners will be notified on July 16, 2023. Please read all instructions before submitting nominations.

Every year The Chelsea Hutchison Foundation rewards trips to Epilepsy Awareness Expo/Day at Disneyland Resort to families who qualify. To date, we have provided trips for over 115 families. The number of trips awarded this year will depend on the funds raised to support this event and will be announced at a later date. The date for the event is October 30-November 1. Our guests will travel from October 29 to November 3.

Please register each person in your party*The Nominee is the person with epilepsy (see qualifiers below). CLick the box to register additional people and it will take you back to register each person in your party (maximum of 4 immediate family members - see below) as Guest 2, Guest 3 and Guest 4.  Please do not be confused by "race day" or "race" references. This is a platform that is typically used for walk/run events, but we are using it in this case to gather nominee information.

Here are the rules. Please read them carefully. Nominations forms must be complete.

  • Only Nominees with an epilepsy diagnosis will qualify. Please be prepared to provide proof if your nominee is selected. Parents or legal guardians can submit a nomination form.
  • You must be a member of The Chelsea Hutchison Foundation Group page. An active facebook account is required for any winners or their parent or guardian (responsible party) as much of the communication with winners is done through a private winner page.
  • Winners requiring airfare will receive fares for the Nominee and up to (3) immediate* family members. Airfare is provided within the Continental United States only. Chelsea's Wish will provide admission to the Epilepsy Awareness Day at Disneyland (EADDL) Expo (it's actually free of charge), admission for Nominee and up to (3) immediate* family members to Disneyland on EADDL and to California Adventure Park the following day. This wish trip includes (5) nights' accommodation with breakfast provided each morning and a Meet and Greet event so everyone can become acquainted.
  • *Immediate family members for this purpose are defined as a legal parent or guardian or sibling (age 20 or under) to Nominee only, residing in the same residence. Single adults living alone can apply with one guest.
  • If you wish to include caregivers or other family members, they are welcome, but they would have to pay their own expenses and make their own arrangements.
  • If you are unable to travel by air, prefer to drive you or airfare is not necessary because of your proximity to Disneyland, you must be able to provide your own transportation and accommodation to and from the event. We will be selecting some families from this category.

The deadline for entry is 11:59 PM MST on July 15, 2023. You will receive an automated acknowledgement that your application was received and then another accepting your entry within a few days of receipt. Please add ChelseasWish@gmail.com to your approved emails so we don't end up in your spam. Winners will be announced on July 16, 2023 in honor of the family who inspired and started the funding of Chelsea’s Wish. They lost their son Michael in 2010 and we celebrate Michael’s birthday by holding the drawing on his birthday.

The Chelsea Hutchison Foundation grants comfort and hope to those affected by epilepsy through providing tangible monitoring resources, vital information, and a safe haven for conversation and community.

Our main goal is to raise awareness of SUDEP and to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals and families living with epilepsy.

We raise funds to provide education about SUDEP and to provide seizure response dog grants, (what we believe to be) lifesaving movement monitors that help to protect against SUDEP and grant wish trips to Epilepsy Awareness Day and Expo at Disneyland.

We stay up-to-date on current trends in medical technology in order to be able to provide the most effective devices as they become available.

We respect the value and quality of life of every person living with epilepsy.

We are dedicated to providing opportunities that allow individuals and families greater independence, increased confidence, ability to enjoy social environments, and community understanding.
