Event description:
The 15th Annual Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue 5K is a family and dog friendly 5K run/walk that will be held at Belmar Park in Lakewood, CO on Sunday September 18, 2022. After hosting a virtual event for the past two years, we are back to an in-person 5K and can’t wait to see everyone again. Bring your dog-friendlly dog, your family, or your friend and run or walk the 5K course at beautiful Belmar Park then hang out afterwards to mingle with our sponsors and maybe even win something in our free raffle! If you aren't able to come to the 5K, we are still keeping the Virtual 5K option open - you will receive your race goodie bag via mail prior to race day and can run, walk, hike (or even sleep in) on 9/18 to show your support! You can enter pictures of your "virtual 5k" into our photo contests to be considered for various prizes The first 250 registrants will receive a race shirt and a goodie bag including lots of goodies for you and your dog! We will have great raffle prizes for those attending the event in-person and we will also have photo prizes for the virtual participants. The Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue was founded in 2007 and is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We work to find new "forever" homes for Labrador Retrievers and Lab Mixes. Most of our labs come to Colorado from out of state shelters and rescues. All of our dogs live in foster homes where they receive lots of love and attention. We also provide vetting for all dogs that are in our care. Our goal for 2022 is to save 100 dogs! REGISTER BY AUGUST 15TH to GUARANTEE A RACE SHIRT! Note: This is not a timed race. If you attend in person you are welcome to run or walk the 5K course, whatever works best for you and your dog(s)! If you are a virtual racer, you can participate by running, walking, going for a hike, or even sleeping in!
