Description:

msTCR Productions presents the RUN ON THE VOLCANO on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at the Valles Caldera Trust in the Jemez Mountains, New Mexico.  The RUN ON THE VOLCANO is a 1/2 Marathon (13.1 miles) Run and a 10K (6.2 miles) Run (off road all terrain run) at 8,700 feet.  The Jemez Mountains are a lush, volcanic oasis rising out of the New Mexico High Desert.  The Jemez Mountains are laced with small fishing streams, stunning volcanic formations, and bright red soil.  Located at the northern end of the Jemez Mountains range, the Valles Caldera is a one million year old, 15 mile diameter dormant volcanic crater.  The Caldera was formed after the volcano exhausted its magnum bed discharge and largely collapsed.  The ecosystem is open grasslands and forested hillsides and home to one of the largest elk herds in the US.

The Partnership for Responsible Business

The mission of the Partnership for Responsible Business is to educate the public about local sustainable economies, promote economic and community development through environmentally and socially responsible entrepreneurship, and partner with allied organizations to advance socially responsible economic development policies and practices.

The PRB is committed to projects that support local economies, reflect the needs of New Mexico's unique communities, and support sustainable rural and urban economic development.  We strive to create public awareness for businesses and consumers interested in investing in people, protecting our planet, and creating long-term sustainable profits.

We work to educate the public as to the benefits of "Thinking Local" by keeping their dollars invested in their local economies.  Buying local provides a positive multiplier benefit to the community.  At the same time, buying local avoids negative health and environmental impacts of supply-chain transportation.

We also work to educate business owners on practices that enable them to conserve resources.  Better practices include reducing energy use, conserving water, mitigating carbon, increasing recycling, and supplying locally.  We believe responsible business owners can in turn provide broader leadership to the community to make these conservation practices more commonplace.

The PRB is the educational arm of the New Mexico Green Chamber of Commerce.  We work with The New Mexico Green Chamber and its local chapters to support and educate business communities around the state.
