This is an open Mile on the road and 5k Run. Both races will begin at the corner of Silva Valley and Serrano Parkway and end in the Oak Ridge High School Stadium. Ruff's Pups Elementary School 100 meter dash at the Oak Ridge Stadium - Free to kids second grade and younger. All participants will receive an event finishers ribbon.
Post race activities:
This is an open one mile and 5k race on the streets and bike paths in El Dorado Hills. Course is generally flat and fast, with the 5k following an out and back format.
Both the Ruff Road Mile and the 5K will start in the street at the Corner of Silva Valley Parkway and Serrano Blvd.
Starting line: park at Oak Meadow Elementary School or the El Dorado Hills Library/Serrano visitors center. Finish line: parking limited at Oak Ridge High School but available at Rolling Hills Middle School. A shuttle bus will be in operation from the Oak Ridge Stadium to the starting line.
All Ruff's Pups K-2nd grade runners will receive an official event finishers ribbon for the 100 meter fun run.
Open Mile: Medals for the top three boys and girls for the open mile in the following age groups: 8,9,10,11,12,13,14.
Medals for Top 3 finishers of each gender in each of the following age groups for both the mile and the 5k. 15-20; 21-30; 31-40; 41-50; 51-60; 61+
All athletes in the mile and 5k will be chip timed for accuracy and the finish line will be in the stadium for all events. Results will be posted on site with the awards ceremony 30 minutes following the completion of each race.
Race packet pick up will be located in front of Oak Ridge High School on Saturday, May 3rd from 9am-1pm.
All proceeds will go to the Oak Ridge Track and Field team to be used for entry fees, uniforms and equipment during the season. A scholarship will be awarded in Josh's name to graduating seniors who plan on running on college.
