Description:
9-mile and 5k trail runs around Barr Lake, and a family fun run to support The Sean May Memorial Foundation. The Foundation was established in memory of Sean May, Deputy District Attorney from the 17th Judicial District, who was slain last summer in his back yard as he returned from work. The Access to Justice Committee of the 17th Judicial District / Adams Broomfield County Bar Association is affiliated with the State of Colorado’s Access to Justice Commission. Our shared goal is to develop, coordinate, and promote initiatives that expand access to, and enhance the quality of, justice for all participants in the judicial system.
Online registration closes on Thursday May 13th at noon. Race day registration is available from 7:30 - 8:30 AM at the start.
One of the most beautiful and scenic race courses in the Denver metro area. This is a fast, level course on the compacted dirt perimeter trail around the lake. The trail traverses beautiful natural scenery including waterfowl and other native wildlife with stunning views of the Rocky Mountains. The 9 mile course crosses one of the prime eagle nesting habitats along the Front Range area. Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to enjoy one of Colorado’s most beautiful state parks. From Denver, head east on I-76 to Exit 22/Bromley Lane; Turn right at E 152nd Ave/E Bromley Ln (signs for Bromley Ln); Turn right at Picadilly Rd to Park entrance.
From E-470 exit 34, 120th Ave. Go east to Tower Rd. Turn Left onto Tower Rd. and follow pavement to Picadilly Rd. Make a left on Picadilly. Park entrance is about a mile ahead on the left.
Parking:
Parking is limited inside Barr Lake State Park so please car-pool. Parking will be available at the Adams County Justice Center, located at 1100 Judicial Center Drive, Brighton, CO 80601. Please park in the public parking lot located on the west side of the courthouse. Shuttles to and from Barr Lake State Park will be leaving from and returning to the first row of parking spaces on the west side. Please allow enough time for parking and shuttle to the lake when planning your arrival on race day.
