About: This run/walk is to acknowledge a global celebration for International Women’s Day's 100th anniversary and to raise money for various micro loans in order to support women in gaining a sustainable income to lift their families and communities out of adversity.

Starting in the SE side of the park, this course will take you on a beautiful run around and through Washington Park finishing next to the brick house on diagonal road in the middle of the park. |

EVERY YEAR on INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY, thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire and celebrate the achievements and contributions of women. On this day since its inception in 1911, a global web of rich and diverse activity has connected women from all around the globe without regard to national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, religious, economic or political differences.
This year, marks the 100TH ANNIVERSARY of this worldwide observance. Our purpose is to continue to create awareness of this day by acknowledging the accomplishments of women, past and present for their political, economical and social contributions. We will also honor the greater vision for the needed changes that will bring equality and basic human rights for women and girls, everywhere. To date there are 176 countries, and 10 major cities across the United States participating, and it is still growing. We want the world to know, that in Denver we honor and support elevate women and girls.

Bring your used running shoes to drop off for recycling to support various women and girls organizations. |

| Bracelet Project: |
Woman with a Cause planned a trip to India this past month in order buy glass beads which in turn supports women from India. These women take the project to their homes and the entire family is involved in the design and creation of each bracelet.
The concept may seem simple, but the impact of this Project is life changing. By assisting in these women, they are able to gain a sustainable income lifting their families from poverty.
The single act of buying a bracelet has the potential to change a life. Bracelets will be available for purchase at the race for $5.00 |
