Start your Fourth of July festivities with the 14th annual FireKracker 5K run/walk at 8:00 a.m. in City Park. This great family event features a free Kids Fun Run, a fast flat course, great post-race refreshments, raffle prizes and official race T-shirts (T-shirts not guaranteed for race day registration).
The Kids Fun Run (approximately 400 meters) is free to all kids 12 and under and begins after the 5k near the swimming pool at 9:00 a.m. No registration necessary.
Proceeds benefit Fort Collins Parks and Recreation Departments CARA youth Track & Field program in purchasing athletic equipment, uniform shirts and coaching.

Course description:
Flat, fast 5k course that starts and finishes in historic Fort Collins City Park. Course runs around City Park lake and out to city streets before re-entering & finishing in City Park. Kid's course starts near the City Park swimming pool area and finishes at 5K finish line.
Parking is available at the softball fields at the west end of Oak Street, as well as on the residential streets in the vicinity of City Park. As a Green Event riding your bike or walking to the event is encouraged.

12 & under, 13-15, 16-19 age groups

All participants will be eligible to win raffle prizes. Individual winners will be randomly selected and announced during the race as runners cross the finish line.

Packet pickup:
All runners who pre-register (online or paper form) can pick up their race packet at Raintree Athletic Club on July 3rd from 1:00-6:00pm, or on race day at Packet Pickup table near finish area on race morning.
