The Access to Justice Committee of the 17th Judicial District and the Colorado Bar Association, are pleased to announce the 5th Annual Sean May Memorial Run/Walk at beautiful Barr Lake State Park as a benefit run for the Access to Justice Committee and the Sean May Memorial Fund.
About Sean May - The run was created to honor Sean May, who was shot and killed in his backyard when he was returning home from work. May always stressed the importance of acting responsibly, including treating victims, the community, defendants and the courts with dignity and respect. Proceeds from the race will benefit Access to Justice programs and activities and Sean May's family.
The memorial race is a wonderful way to honor May, his family, and the legal community. The Self-Help Resource Center at the Adams County Justice Center supports his belief of helping the community and providing access to justice for all. The center was made possible in part by the proceeds of this event. It provides computers, information, and staff to help people with legal procedural questions. It opened on Jan. 5 2011and has already served more than 2,000 people. The positive impact of the Self-Help Resource Center has been recognized at the state-level and is being pointed to as model for efficiency.
Support from the legal community was critical to the center's creation. Please consider providing your support to ensure its continued success and growth.
