Description:

There are run events, walk events, obstacle events, fitness events, and heck even events where you try to escape zombies! What if you could take all of those and combine them into one great event that is meant for anyone at any fitness level (minus the zombies, we like our brains in our heads!)? We have done just that! The Run Ugly Fitathlon gives runners, walkers, weekend warriors, gyms, fitness programs, etc. the chance to see how well they compare to each other in a fun competitive environment for being Colorado's most fit athlete. We are combining the best current fitness trends have to offer in a unique exciting event with proceeds benefiting the Jack H. Marston II Melanoma Fund. Start out with a 1 mile run, then (8) fitness stations (with easy to do exercise like push-ups, burpees, etc.) and then finishing off with another 1 mile run. Each participant, just like in a decathlon, will receive performance points for each fitness segment. There will be individual awards and fitness/gym team competitions as well. Event Schedule
  • 8:30 a.m. - Registration
  • 9:30 a.m. - First Wave Starts
  • 9:30 a.m. - Expo Opens

  • Challenge Stations:

Start out with a 1 Mile Run, then you will head into any of the (8) eight challenge stations in any order. You can complete as many as you want. Additional Info:

Calling all Fitness Clubs/Gym - gain bragging rights and see once and for all who has the most fit club (think crossfit club, bootcamp, running, etc.) and recruit a team. Top 5 of each team will be use for ranking the team awards). Get your team started today. Don't miss our fun expo with live band, great refreshments, activities for kids (ages 1 to 99) from face painting to balloon artists, and free skin cancer screenings. Skin cancers are one of the most common types of cancers and in Colorado, because of our altitude and less atmosphere, the sun's rays are (3) three times as powerful as they are sitting on a beach in Miami. In fact, the 5th most frequent cancer in Colorado is Melanoma. As one of the most active populations of any state, our event is working to increase awareness and provide free screenings to those in attendance. We are pleased to be partnering with the Jack H. Marston II Melanoma Fund. The organization focuses on raising funds to provide needed programs, raise awareness, fund research, and promote healing. A portion of the proceeds will be donated from the event to this wonderful organization.
