About the Cause

Support Early Detection of Lung Cancer The Gift of Life & Breath is dedicated to raising awareness and funding to support the critical research needed for early detection of lung cancer. Race founders Gary and Thelissa Zollinger learned firsthand the difficulties faced with a deadly cancer that is rarely diagnosed in its early stages. It is the goal and intent of this event to offer a positive outreach to the community and give lung cancer the immediate attention it needs. Public awareness and support are both key factors in attracting the funding that is needed for this important endeavor. Lung Cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths among both men and women in the United States.
