Legends say that a night beast so terrifying, so ferocious, lurks on the moonlit hills around the headwaters of the Huron River. The Native Americans tell stories of a giant, hairy man that roamed the forest of Indian Springs seeking prey to devour, whom they call Sasquatch. For hundreds of years the keepers of the gate have sealed the only road into the park at dark to protect the public from the danger that lies within the boundaries of Indian Springs Metropark. On Friday, October 26th the gate will be opened for the first time to the bravest of runners, runners who think they have what it takes to dash through the veil of darkness on a glow stick lined course at midnight for 15K's in the domain of the legendary Sasquatch! If you are able to be finish the 15K challenge and not get eaten by the Sqwatchs you will receive a unique shirt declaring your bravery and a custom Bigfoot Finisher Medal!
To enter the park each car must have a metro parks pass. Daily passes are $5 and Annual passes are $25 ($15 for seniors 62+) if already have one.
The 15k will be well equipped with water stations approximately every 2 miles.
The Start and Finish line are located at the old Nature Center at the very end of Indian Trail in the park. The registration area will be inside the old Nature Center that is equipped with bathrooms. Enjoy a dark creepy run on a glow stick lined course and connect with Sasquatch on this one of a kind run. There will be several "Scare Zones" that you will stubble into unaware on this race. Not one inch of the course is shared with traffic! Its just man and Sasquath in perfect harmony.
