The 14th Annual Mother's Day Mile will be held on Sunday, May 12, 2013 with opening ceremonies beginning at 1 pm. The one mile race benefits the domestic and sexual violence programs of the Advocate Safehouse Project of Garfield County Colorado. This premier community event attracts elite men and women competitors, recreational runners, and a host of community walk and run completers who complete the one mile course just for fun. The Mother's Day Mile is as much a celebration as it is a race. A celebration of Moms, fitness, and community. Of course, men, women, and families invited.

From Local to Global

We are quite proud of our continuing Sisterhood Exchange Program with the women of Mfangano Island , Kenya. Our partnership connects the Mother's Day Mile community with the HIV + women of Western Kenya. Whether it's domestic or sexual violence or the stigma of HIV/Aids women need help to provide for their families through work, empowerment, and self sufficiency. This year all our race awards will be hand crafted by women and men using treadle sewing machines, indigenous fabrics, and local beads. This is a Fair Trade Cooperative that pays a salary to the artisans. If you would like to join our partnership as a Sisterhood Exchange Program sponsor please contact Nancy Reinisch, at or (970) 945-6102
