Description: The 2nd Annual Race for GRACE presented by Saint Francis Medical Center is a fantastic event that allows people of all ages to honor family and friends affected by cancer. This event features a 10K loop that starts by heading down South Locust Street and circles around the city. There is also a 2-Mile Family Fun Run around the streets of downtown Grand Island. All proceeds will go the GRACE Foundation (Grand Island Area Cancer Endowment) to benefit local cancer patients, survivors and their families. Our mission is to provide you with a magnificent run/walk opportunity, a fun atmosphere and to support a great cause all at the same time!!! Event Schedule

  • *Note: Walkers are welcome but be aware that the course closes at 10 a.m. and will no longer be monitored by police and volunteers after this time.     Course description: The 10K features a loop that starts by heading down South Locust Street and circles around the city. The 2-Mile Family Fun Run goes through the streets of downtown Grand Island. Couses are flat and fast.

    Parking: There is ample parking around the Grand Theater. There are free parking lots directly to the north of the theatre, to the south of the theatre between 2nd and 3rd Streets, a couple of blocks to the east of the theatre on 3rd and Pine, as well as a lot on the corner of 1st and South Locust Streets (east of the Liederkranz building).
       
    Awards info: There will be an award ceremony following the event.
       
    Additional Info: Each registered 10K participant will receive a long-sleeved race t-shirt (or the option of a dri-fit shirt for an additional cost), timing bib, goody bag and post-race snacks. Each registered 2-Mile participant will receive a short-sleeved race t-shirt, timing bib, goody bag and post-race snacks. Free popcorn and pop will be available inside the Grand Theater.
       
    In Honor of Items: Purchase a butterfly for $5 to honor a friend or loved one affected by cancer. Each person's name you select to honor will be printed on a butterfly that will line the 10K or 2-Mile Courses and a duplicate butterfly will be displayed near the Grand Theatre area. We are challenging each runner to sell 10 butterflies because the more butterflies we sell, the greater the gift we can pass along to those families challenged by this disease!! Each runner who sells 10 butterflies will get his/her name in a drawing. You can purchase during registration or by clicking the "product" button.
       
    Packet pickup: Packets can be picked up on Friday, April 13th from 5 p.m. to 7p.m. in the Kaufman Building at 308 W. 3rd St. east of the Grand Theatre and on Race Day beginning at 7:00 a.m.
