The Hams and Hamstrings 5K has a new course this year! The course starts at 7-Eleven just west of Woodmen and Marksheffel and heads south on the trail, turns around at the new fire station and returns to 7-Eleven (Oh, Thank Heaven for 7-Eleven!).
Race starts and finishes at 7-Eleven, 7718 E. Woodmen Rd., Colorado Springs CO (use this address for GPS navigation).
Access from eastbound and westbound Woodmen: Turn right on Marksheffel and follow directions to parking
Please be respectful of the neighboring Woodmen Valley Chapel as they have multiple Easter Sunday services and they need their parking to be available for their members. Limited parking is available at 7-Eleven but more parking for the Hams and Hamstrings 5K is available at the PRIDE Soccer Complex and shuttle service will be offered to take you to and from the race start/finish. Click HERE for directions to the PRIDE Soccer Complex.
HAMS will be given to Overall winners. (It is the HAMS and Hamstrings 5K after all...)
Team awards: Team scoring based on teams of 4+ with at least one female and one male.
No double dipping (Overall winners can not also win in their age group).
Costume contest for team, best female, and best male (judging at 7:45 am before race starts at 8:00 am).
Raffles before and after the race.
Entry fees are non-refundable.
Walkers: Yes! Our belief is that a 5K is for runners and walkers both. All we will ask is that everyone seeds themselves in approximate order of speed and for start-of-race safety concerns - we will have walkers start in the second half of the pack instead of the first half of the pack. The race is chip timed, so no matter where you start, you'll still get your accurate times.
Pets: For the safety of all participants AND pets, no pets are allowed in the race.
In addition to running, we support health, fitness, babies, fun, etc. We'd love to have you! All we will ask is that everyone seeds themselves in approximate order of speed and for start-of-race safety concerns - we will have strollers start in the second half of the pack instead of the first half of the pack. The race is chip timed, so everyone, including those with strollers will still get their accurate times. There is no charge for stroller babies (they're not walking or running after all) and they will not get the shirt, goody bag, official times, etc.
