Description:
Walk Local/Reach Global is a 3-mile walk/run event which will support the Rescue and Care of Orphans specifically to raise funds for the repair of a roof for the bakery that supplies a livelihood for orphans in Durban, South Africa. This is a World Orphan outreach.

This is a 3-mile course for walkers and runners on September 8, 2012 which will be held at the Sunrise Baptist Church located 2138 N. Jefferson Rd. in Midland, Michigan. Registration begins at 8:30am; food and drinks will be provided following the walk/run. Fundraising will go toward repair of a bakery roof in Durban, South Africa which supplies a livelihood to orphans which is an outreach of World Orphans. The bakery provides bread for the poor in the community at a significantly reduced rate, medical clinics and supports outreaches for the kids.

Course description:
The walk/run course starts at Sunrise Baptist parking lot at 2138 N. Jefferson Rd. and routes through the subdivision and back to the church. Course length is 3 miles.

Start at Sunrise Baptist parking lot and walk/run through the neighborhood following course which returns to the church.

Awards info:
Prize for largest donation given on behalf of a team of participants is a getaway to a cabin at Glen Lake. Several other prizes will be awarded.
