The RMFR's Herding Cats 5K is a walk/fun run. We have two courses, a long one and a short one (5K for the long one and just over a mile & a half for the shorter course). As an extra bit of fun, you can participate in our Poker Run for an additional chance to win some awesome prizes as you walk or run the course. As you go along the route, you stop at each of our five card stations and pick a card. Each card you draw gets marked down on your poker hand scorecard and at the end of the race, the top 3 poker hands win a great prize! Participation in the poker run is optional, if you aren't a card shark don't worry, you'll still have a chance to win some great prizes donated by our very generous sponsors.
We will have free refreshments, some great vendor booths at the finish area, and it's a guaranteed good time!
Even though this walk benefits the cats, please don't bring your kitty, we don't want it to be literally herding cats. However, you are more than welcome to bring your vaccinated, well behaved, and leashed pooch pal and he can strut his stuff for his furry feline friends.

Course description:
Take your pick of either a short course that is just about a mile and a half long, or the full 5K. No matter which one you pick, you'll have a beautiful stroll and see Stapleton Central Park in its finest spring attire!
Starting line is just a short walk from the parking lot on the north side of the playground.
Parking:
Parking is available in the main lot off E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
Awards info:
Stay tuned for more information about our wonderful awards! There will be prizes for the best poker hands from the poker run as well as raffle prizes!
Is timing available?
No. Despite the name, Herding Cats is going to be a laid back, fun event. It's not a race, and there will be no timing available.
Packet pickup:
Registration table opens at 7:30 AM the day of the race, and you will receive your T-Shirt then.
Registration info:
Registration is $30, $20 for kids under 12.
Registration fee includes a special, limited edition RMFR 30th Birthday Herding Cats 5K T-Shirt as well as entry into a raffle to win one of several great prizes. The first 25 people to register will also receive a free water bottle donated by Polar Bottle!
