Old fashioned 1 mile footrace down the spectator-lined Main Street of small town Alamosa, Colorado just before the 4th of July Parade starts! Kid's race of 1/4 mile sprint just before the mile race. Elite race just before the parade with prize money of $100 for 1st, $75 for 2nd and $50 Male/Female. Also, the team with the most participants will receive a custom-made traveling trophy! Afterward, all participants are invited TO BE IN the parade! The races kick off the huge day-long celebration of Alamosa County's 100th Year Anniversary Celebration! All proceeds benefit seedme (Socially Embracing Each Dream, Micro Enterprises), a San Luis Valley-wide effort to grow sustainability through micro enterprises.
Just east of the key intersection of Main & State near Milagros Coffeehouse.
Main St will be closed for the parade. Several city owned parking lots are located near the start/finish on the south side of Main St, or find parking along the adjacent streets.
Awards will be really cool 4th of July novelty hats to wear in the parade and the rest of the day! Super sweet ones for the overall winners, patriotic top hats for the age group champs, skimmer hats for 2nd place and visors for 3rd!
Kid's Race: 1st-3rd awarded in age groups of 6 & under, 7-9, 10-12.
Mile Race: 1st-3rd Overall, 1st-3rd Masters (over 40), 1st-3rd in age groups 9 & under, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & over.
Elite Race: $100 for 1st, $75 for 2nd and $50 for 3rd

Packet pick-up and walk-up registration will take place at Milagros Coffeehouse at 529 Main St, July 3, 3-6pm. Race Day registration and packet pick-up will also take place at Milagros, July 4, 7:30-8:45am.
