Event description:
The 13th Annual Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue 5K will be held as a virtual event this year due to the uncertainty that COVID-19 poses for a Fall event. Our 5K will take place on September 19th, 2020. On that day, we encourage everyone that signed up to do a 5K on their own - run, walk, bring your kids/family/dog, etc and send us pictures! If you are serious about 5K's, you can run/walk your favorite 5K route and time yourself. Do you have an old dog that likes to go for a quick walk around the block? That counts!! Do you usually go on hikes on the weekend? Go for it!! Do you feel more like sleeping in? Do it!! Tag us in photos of whatever you choose to do with your dog that day and you will be entered to win more fun prizes. The first 200 registrants will receive a race shirt and a goodie bag including a full size dog toy, dog food samples, and dog treats! Update 8/25/20: We are SOLD OUT of goodie bags, if you register between 8/25 and 8/27 you will still get a shirt but no goodie bag. If you register after August 27th, you won't get a shirt or goodie bag but will be eligible for our race day photo contest prizes. For the race day photo prizes, we will be giving away some prizes to racers who send us the best pictures on the day of the race - see below for details! The Rocky Mountain Lab Rescue was founded in 2007 and is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We work to find new "forever" homes for Labrador Retrievers and Lab Mixes. Most of our labs come to Colorado from out of state shelters and rescues. All of our dogs live in foster homes where they receive lots of love and attention. We also provide vetting for all dogs that are in our care. Our goal for 2020 is to save 150 dogs! REGISTER BY THURSDAY, AUGUST 27TH TO RECEIVE A RACE SHIRT. WE ARE SOLD OUT OF GOODIE BAGS. REGISTRATIONS FROM AUGUST 28TH TO SEPTEMBER 13TH WILL BE DISCOUNTED AND WILL NOT RECEIVE A SHIRT OR GOODIE BAG.
