Join Parker Parks and Recreation at Tallman Meadow Park for our inaugural Cattle Crossing 5K and Family Fun Trek with RNK Running & Walking. One of our most scenic events in our run series, this stimulating 5K course meanders through the historic Idyllwilde community under majestic tree canopies, past many feeder trails, and next to a small creek. Many will catch a glimpse of animals along the trail whether it be various birds, deer, or cattle so be sure to keep your eyes open! Keeping with the rustic theme of the event and getting in touch with Parker's roots, western attire and cowboy hats are encouraged! (running in cowboy boots is not recommended however).
Unique prizes and gift cards will be awarded to the overall male/female finishers and top three age category winners in the 5K. The gift cards have varying denominations depending on where you place and total $680! All participants will receive a commemorative item, all-you-care-to-eat pancakes from Flippin' Flapjacks, and a chance to win various prizes! Pre-registration closes Wednesday, May 31st at noon, however, race-day/walk-up registration is available for an additional $10 at packet pickup or the morning of the event. Race packets can be picked up on Friday, June 2nd from 5 to 7 p.m. at RNK Running & Walking or at the event beginning at 7 a.m. Leashed dogs and strollers are welcome but need to start at the back of the wave and remain to the right at all times. Interested in getting a peek at the action? Check out our Parker Parks and Recreation race video.
Kids 8 and under can participate in the free Huntington Learning Center Kids' Dash after the 5K event, estimated start time is approximately 8:45 a.m. Registration is not required.
